Truly nothing is more telling about Xtianity than the fact it redeemed and in some cases outright lionized Pilate and shifted all the blame for Jesus' death onto The Jews™, who did very little, all told.

Sam was always the hidden genius behind The Format, and a big reason why fun. was so unfathomably bland and heartless was because he wasn't in it, and Nate is a deeply corny man.

I got really frustrated by the album Dog Problems for being a sleepy garbage bag of lame-ass songs and a re-recording of Snails that quite literally robbed the song of any potency. I don't really trust Nate as a songwriter at this point, but I'm glad to see he's gone back to his roots here.

The Format's first EP and album are real treasures of twee pop and I still find myself coming back to those songs 22 years later.

Once again these maladjusted weirdos have no idea what power is or how it factors into anything. If you asked them what the third largest religion in the world was, they'd say Judaism because they are so divorced from real world affairs. It's a type of ineptitude demanded by Pauline philosophy.

Yet this will never be enough for the non-Jewish AZ's who can never muster a single breath of sympathy for the Jews who are watching unthinkable horrors carried out in their name despite repeated calls for an end. We are nothing but bloodthirsty murderers to them, so I refuse to afford trust.

I will continue to stand ardently against the existence of a Jewish ethno-state. I reject the idea Zionism is an concept well derived from Jewish thought, law, or practice. I deny the revisionist history Zionists have put forth about my people and my ancestors.

They have no context for the ways in which Egypt routinely fucked over the sovereign Palestinians in the wake of the Balfour declaration. They have no knowledge of how the collapse of the Ottoman Empire paved the way for ethno-nationalism to destabilize the region. They just think Jews ruined it.

The worst part of it all is that these people are in no way meaningfully pro-Arab or pro-Muslim or anything representing cultural solidarity with the Palestinian people. They still see Islam as violent, regressive, and anti-Christian. They do extreme mental gymnastics to reconcile these stances.

And the reason for this is simple:

The solution they want is the abolition of Jews, worldwide. They are either anti-theists who see Judaism as primitive and more violent Christianity, and wish to see all religion abolished, or they are flat out antisemites who see Jews as a global to snuff out.

So that's the paradox. Jews are somehow both wholly responsible for the acts of Israel, and disallowed from commenting on the scenario, especially when it defies the script non-Jews have aligned on for advocacy.

We are both to blame, and not allowed to be part of the solution.

These people tell Jews they have no right to be concerned about the rising tide of vocal antisemitism and attacks on Jews regardless of their affiliation with Israel. They tell us we are to shut the fuck up and only talk about Palestine and its people. They tell us we're worthless and beyond hope.

My and many others Jews principle anxiety is that when this is all over, this will be used as precedent to do large-scale harm to Jews outside Israel who were never for the invasion of Palestine or the creation of a Jewish ethnostate to begin with; all on Likud's account.

This is because they misconstrue my anxiety about REAL antisemitism (not the made-up shit the ADL labels as such) for a rejection of their calls for peace and liberation. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Numerous people have called me a Zionist even though I have stated in no ambiguous terms how much I reject the idea Zionism is a Jewish idea, and stand foursquare with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of autonomy, safety, and freedom.

So Jews often get quite uncomfortable around Anti-Zionist or otherwise Pro-Palestinian non-Jews because it's a constant waiting game for when those people go mask-off about their antisemitism. It means we're reluctant to form alliances with these people because they rarely prove to be real allies.

This creates a lot of discomfort for Jews who have to sit by quietly while the more important cries for justice and humanity for Palestinians are being said all the while veiling negative stereotypes of Jews and misrepresentations of Jewish teachings and praxis.

However, non-Jewish Anti-Zionists rarely demonstrate the ability to separate Judaism and Jews from Israel and frequently blindly (or in some cases deliberately) misconstrue them.

And it is important for all people of all creeds worldwide to fervently and ardently reject the actions of the Israeli state, Netanyahu's regime, the IDF, and the political support for these actors.

There's a paradox of discourse right now for pro-Palestinian Jews.

Jews who reject Zionism, Likud, settler colonialism, religious ethnostates, and a historic precedent for the Israel/Palestine conflict are well versed in the ways Zionism is un-Jewish and how many Zionists are crypto-antisemites.
