After in Capo Verde, Morocco, Namibia we are now most happy to exchange and collaborate here as well. What a joy teaching and discussions really were !

Wadinga Fomba joined as lecturer and Lekan Faboya was our host. He is now the Acting Head of Chemistry Department. Before he was with us at TROPOS ACD in Leipzig as a Humboldt postdoctoral fellow.

This week we have visited #FUOYE, the Federal University of Oye Ekiti in # Nigeria and started our first lecture course on Basic Atmospheric Chemistry and Air Pollution.

We are using classic sampling with impactors and HV filters and detailed offline analysis together with realtime #AMS and #PTR measurements and #RAMPS sensor pack deployment. #VOCs done with online-GC.

A big step forward to make the SCO real. The SCO is a National Facility (NF) within #ACTRISRI and supported by #BMBF_Bund in #ACTRIS-D

This is what happened:

After big field campaigns in 2000/2001 an 2010/2011 we are now building the Schmücke Cloud Observatory or SCO. It works as a natural aerosol-cloud interaction reactor - yesterday we started to build the new permanent Gehlberg station:⬇️ See photos in the following ⬇️⬇️

This week we got a new instrument for deep-UV cw laser measurements in aqueous solution. Some of our serious @TROPOS_eu #ACD senior scientists moved it to the aqueous phase lab 😀.
