What a varied bowl!

I usually make a fridge cleanout and eat all the bits that I don‘t enjoy all that much anyway and then add some heat. You can always feel pain, and then your nose might also get a good cleanout too :D

They had #porcini at the store today - while they were much more expensive than the usual ingredients we would use, we didn‘t regret it! Just lightly sautéed with shallots in butter and served with rice. So flavorful - wild how they‘re a whole dish on their own.

We ~80 pcs of meatballs and froze them just before the heat waves this summer so we wouldn‘t have to cook during the heat. Now we still have some left over and made meatball subs in hotdog buns with a small caprese salad.

The zorjirushi rice cookers really are worth it. Also let‘s not underestimate the Hasegawa cutting boards as a souvenir. Can be bleached and battered and they hold up beautifully

Trying to clean out my pantry (who needs two big cans of pineapples?) & improvised sth with tandoori chicken, coconut milk, pineapple and lemon. A spicy mayo in the pantry turned out to be subpar so I tossed it and mixed Lao Gan Ma with Kewpie!
