Got the lifted phone alert, and can hear the sirens, just a bit quieter than usual.

And, apart from the fella chilling on the bench in the local park, who cycled off just a couple of minutes ago, it just seems like any other air drill, just a lot quieter in terms of sirens, which to my recollection are usually quite loud and eerie.

At 1.30 a couple of my fellow family mart customers' phones sounded with the presidential drill alert, mine didn't. Also I don't know if the family mart is somehow sound proofed, but I haven't heard the sirens at all.

On my 1.28 pm arrival the clerk anxiously informed me that I would have to stay put for half an hour unless I rushed home. I said this was fine.

Having read that the annual air raid drill this year would involve people being directed into shelters, and that convenience stores would not count as such, but people in them would be directed elsewhere. I decided to nip down to one nearby, and see what unfolded.
