18 years ago the first lesson I learned in community development finance was that to fix a host of ills in Chicago we wanted more housing density and after that we wanted more housing density and then more commercial/retail and housing density and then maybe some community facility space.

Masked federal agent throws chemical irritants outside Logan Square grocery store: 'My eyes are burning'
Video taken by several witnesses captured the moments where the agent can be seen dropping a canister from a white SUV.
In a video taken by a witness and shared with the Sun-Times, cars could be seen blocking the white, unmarked SUV before a masked agent rolled down his window and dropped the canisters. Smoke spread around the vehicle and passersby began to scream.

And you can get a blank white cake and then just put whichever plastic characters your child is currently obsessed with on top! My kids are always thrilled and it tastes perfect.

That said, church is obviously not for everyone. Itβs just one of the few spaces Iβve found inter generational, and I wish there were more!

Honestly 90% of my intergenerational friendships and interactions since moving to the city 18 yrs ago have been at church. I think about this all the time - I come from a small town & this stuff was more frequent there. At church I form relationships with people who are 3-87 and see them every week.

Youβve gotta choose: would you like to ford the river or caulk your car and float across? Alternately Fort Snelling has an Indian guide for hire.

The rule of finally deciding to make a big fun purchase (cargo e-bike) is that something expensive will immediately go wrong in your house (second kitchen leak in two months leading to new wood floors plus a bonus new dishwasher)

THE WORLD: Will the new pope will continue Pope Francis' focus on inclusion and care for the poor?
CHICAGO: Despite early reports that Pope Leo is a Cubs fan, we're live with his brother from his TV room in an inner-ring suburb where he says no, his mom was a Cubs fan but Bob roots for the Sox.

Just a really enlightening thread that neatly reveals a challenge that as a white mom I don't really have to think about. I'm grateful for this type of vulnerability and sharing and the way it challenges me to see others more fully and check my own assumptions.
