I introduced Alan Sillitoe's 'Saturday Night and Sunday Morning' as a set text in an UG module at Nottingham Trent University and am loving reading student reactions to it. It is such an alien world to an 18 year old in terms of language, setting, values, etc - exactly what literature should be.
