Sort of, though some names changed several times over the course of the drafting process. Being that it's 1972 though, I tried to use era-appropriate (post war) names.

I put it in my profile - no service offers or phishy DMs. That stopped most of it. (Hi from a fellow Callan/Sandbaggers fan over on FB).

Same, that's why it took so long. It wasn't just removing the offending word, it was a complete sentence, and sometimes paragraph, rewrite.

D7. The only character I intentionally named was the story's top scientist - a groundbreaking quantum physicist called Ben Moore. I named him after Gordon Moore, of 'Moore's Law' fame.

I'm proud of trimming 18,000 words from my manuscript, making it 95K - far more manageable for a thriller. I've also revised my query package to the point I'm confident in it, and have queried widely since October.

I generally pitch it as a thriller first with time travel/speculative/sci-fi elements second. There is action but it doesn't fully kick in until act three so calling it that could be a bit misleading. It’s really an espionage thriller built around time travel possibilities.

D29. I've been seriously querying this since October. My thoughts: time travel stories sell, but most seem to have some kind of romantic subplot, where mine is about as unromantic as they come. Trends do change though. 🤞
