Maybe some it can be explained because we used diluted m17 (half m17) when we grew strains for molecular work. Lower salt , cells contain less salt therefore less chance of sparking (although the real reason was reducing costs) but I often wondered if that also made our electrotransformation better

I always cloned directly in L. lactis, most genes I was working with encoded proteins that E. coli did not like. I think I only used it to isolate empty vector from.
