I never said it wasn’t done compassionately. I said it was done indiscriminately. Like maybe we should be investing in fire, flood and emergency services in a time of climate change, rather than cutting by 15%? To give just one example.

How is 15% cut— the largest cut in the public service, including the Harper years— not massive? You might not agree that it matters, but don’t pretend it’s a “minor adjustment”.

Also they cut 15% across the board, rather than targeting the departments that have grown.

Well you obviously didn’t read the article, since it’s nation-wide cuts— not regional specific. And yeah, I do find our massive, largely indiscriminate cuts to the public service to be very bad for Canadian sovereignty.

Oh yeah, cause for sure all of that research and programming was just useless and easily replaceable with infrastructure.

This must be weird news to see if you’re one of the literally hundreds or even thousands of university administrators who preemptively censored faculty, scrubbed websites, changed the names of centers, etc.

Tbh this just saved Carney from himself, if he was still planning to accept (as he said he would) after giving that speech.
