New York City: The time has arrived. Finally, a chance to tell the city EXACTLY what your landlord’s been getting away with. NYC’s first Rental Ripoff Hearings are happening in all five boroughs, and we want to hear from you. Real New Yorkers. Real stories. Real policy changes.Β

From door-knocking in the smallest chapters to electing a mayor in NYC, everyone in DSA worked hard to build for this moment! We are proud of this organization and the roles played by R&R’s NPC member Sarah and NCC members Daniel, Sofia, and Eli in DSA and YDSA’s recruitment drives this year!

In a few short months, @DianaforQueens built an incredible coalition and ran a movement campaign that earned nearly 75% of the vote last night.

I'm grateful that she will serve out my term in the Assembly, and hopefully many to come. Astoria is in good hands.

Statement from the National Political Committee. 1/2. Bovino’s Out, But We’re Still In. Abolish ICE! DSA once again expresses our deepest solidarity with the people of Minnesota, many of whom may be breathing a sigh of relief that CBP Commander-at-Large Greg Bovino has been removed from his post. Bovino’s direct references to Nazi imagery, meant to strike fear into the hearts of working people and embolden the right, instead drove the masses of Minneapolis-St. Paul into the streets, shutting down the economy of two major American cities for an entire day. 1/2. January 29, 2026. Read the full statement at the link in our profile.

She Took Her 13-Year-Old Daughter to a Labor March. ICE Tear-Gassed Them Both. β€œIt seemed like it happened really fast. And there just were so many babies and kids and elderly people among us.”

"This crowd of thousands of people were just assaulted by their government." This is something that the labor movement in Portland won't forget.

Making Sense of Trump's Monroe Doctrine.

Your weekend read:

Henry D explores the logic behind Trump’s Monroe Doctrine and its relationship with the growing conflict between the U.S. and China. Oil, lithium, profitsβ€”and a retreat from globalist hyper-imperialism to hemispheric dominance.

A day after a historic citywide work stoppage in Minneapolis, Trump’s ICE paramilitary murdered a legal observer, ICU nurse, and fellow union member, Alex Pretti. We must abolish ICE and put its leaders on trial. No equivocation!

Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

So you’re telling me a brutal civil war is going to seem like a brutal civil war. 17 nations invaded Russia to overturn the revolution. It’s no virtue, it’s just what happens. And again, your point is about the Russian Revolution, not Rosa Luxemburg.

The councils β€œnever were elected after 1918”… almost like 17 nations invaded Russia to overturn the revolution. Not very good conditions for elections! By the time East Germany was established Stalinism had already been solidified from the backsliding of the social revolution.
