3rd gen DC, GenX. I’m a fan of books, art, and music. Pretty passionate about free speech, science, and the Oxford comma. I was DOGE’d out of my job in public health —all opinions are my own.

Glad you found him
Today is a Brian Eno kind of day. Soothing my nervous system

Courts found 4,421+ illegal ICE detentions since Oct 2025.
Due process exists because power gets abused.
Maryland chose the Constitution over chaos.
This is why state & local elections matter.
On President’s Day, the First Amendment Troop staged “ResistDance” — a tribute and act of artistic dissent — at the Lincoln Memorial. ❤️

Yes! What if we treated extremely normal human variation as something other than a "disorder"???

wow -- with Trump standing behind him, a man (not sure who he is) offers this prayer: "We pray that he would be mindful of the poor and that he would be invested in the alleviation of suffering happening in the families preparing to bury their loved ones in Minneapolis."

Trump shut down the Kennedy Center out of pure embarrassment after the cancellations.
He’s betting we forget in two years.
In 2023 the Kennedy Center was in the black, pulling in $286M in revenue. And it reopened from a $250M renovation in 2019.
It is the worst feeling - i’m sorry 😞

Just saying
More than once this year I’ve said to friends and to my three young adult kids how stressful it must be to have little ones today. It’s a hard enough gig when your kids are babies without being forced to navigate their health care without trustworthy medical guidance
04.02.2026 23:10 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0‼️ If you’ve been following social media from CDC, be aware that with the exception of their Emergency and NIOSH accounts, all other CDC Centers have been told their socials are shut down and nothing can be posted on them.
Further posts will come directly from HHS‼️
Content posted by other agencies had to be approved by hhs aspa starting in Jan, 2025.
I really hope no one has been thinking that content posted during Trump II has been direct from agency staff.
Considering the office I worked for within HHS was ordered to halt all comms Jan 2025 (as were most HHS comms) — what in the fresh hell will HHS be ‘communicating’?
Not only are these deeply unserious people — they are dangerous
(And do not hate on my beloved em dash please)
Save the post. 2020 and BLM in DC brought the city together but it wasn’t enough. Nothing will be enough until we ALL acknowledge this country was built on the backs of the enslaved and we are a fundamentally racist society
