Writing, organizing, climate, politics, Texas, etc.
The ad and PR industry is full of wildly talented, caring people, and they've been so supportive of me, and this project. I know they'll keep pushing for change, backed by the incredible @cleancreatives.bsky.social team.
03.12.2025 21:45 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Clean Creatives started with me cold emailing strangers, and has grown to a network of 1500 agencies who have pledged not to work with fossil fuels in 60+ countries. As our Head of Organizing, Laura has been a huge part of that growth and I'm excited to elevate her leadership.
03.12.2025 21:44 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Life update: @cleancreatives.bsky.social has a new Executive Director! Laura Ranzato will be taking over my role on December 12, and I'll be doing some time off followed by new projects in 2026. www.adweek.com/brand-market...
03.12.2025 21:43 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1I am very closely related to someone whose entire job is to assess and track students for IEPs. It's a job that requires a decade of work experience and advanced degrees, and done by people who care deeply for vulnerable students. Throwing out their work based vibes is offensively stupid.

28.11.2025 14:50 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I have never once intentionally clicked on a button with that stupid sparkles emoji that big tech uses to indicate 'make it with AI' and every time I've done it by accident I've been incredibly annoyed.
28.11.2025 14:50 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I often have to make ads on LinkedIn for work and today I had to click 'no' on exactly 8 prompts to make my ad with AI. If it's that good, or good for me, something tells me they wouldn't need to sell it so hard.
28.11.2025 14:46 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1After Khashoggi was killed, Edelman started listing Saudi Arabia as one of the most trusted governments in the world in their in-house propaganda report, The Trust Barometer.
Richard Edelman personally hosts meet and greets for Saudi government leaders www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023...
Everything about the Saudi government's global image strategy has been led by Edelman, from golf to 'sustainable tourism' to weird cities in the desert.

When you try to do the things Microsoft advertises you can do with their AI assistant, the AI assistant simply cannot do those things. We're burning down the planet for... this. www.theverge.com/report/82244...

17.11.2025 18:58 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We still have so much work to do, but that fact that progress is still being made in the midst of shocking violence and the rise of brutal reactionaries is astonishing and encouraging.
13.11.2025 17:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I feel like that mix of hope and fear is still front and center in many ways in my life, but I'm trying to approach it with more softness and kindness than I did in the years following 2015.
13.11.2025 17:06 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I took me a few years to work through the feelings I had about being that close to so much violence.
Paradoxically, those weeks were the first time I realized Donald Trump's brand of xenophobia and hate could win, and the first time I thought we had a chance to win on climate change.
We went to a movie instead, and shortly after I left my neighborhood, a group of terrorists ran through it, killing dozens of people up and down the street I was staying on, and then at the Bataclan itself.
13.11.2025 17:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 010 years ago I was in Paris awaiting the start of the UN Climate Talks when I convinced my friend that we shouldn't go to a concert at the Bataclan.

11.11.2025 00:00 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0For years, advertising has been how Stereogum made money to pay its writers. While we made progress moving away from that model, Google AI search has decimated the business almost overnight. Today we relaunch with a greater focus on subscription. Meanwhile, in Australia where rooftop solar permitting takes 72 hours or less, utilities are giving power away for free electrek.co/2025/11/04/a...
Good riddance to Andrew Cuomo, the embodiment of everything the public hates about the Democratic party: entitlement, corruption, and hypocrisy. A truly terrible person both in office and in his heart of hearts.
05.11.2025 13:52 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's amazing that Democrats really thought this man and his wife were a vital part of winning the election for Harris. One of the most unlikable, destructive men to have public office in our lifetimes.
04.11.2025 17:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is the kind of thing you write only if you had nothing to do with fighting or winning any of these campaigns. If you did know anything about them, you'd know Cuomo aggressively resisted every single one of these until absolutely forced to concede by relentless public opinion.
