Anas al-Sharif is the latest Palestinian journalist murdered by Israel in the largest massacre of journalists in history (read that again), for the crime of reporting Israel’s genocide to the world.

This is how they kill the truth when they silence the voice that used to narrate it, and this is how they assassinate the scene and the image when they extinguish an eye that used to see and show the world what was happening.

The news has ended, and now you have become the news yourself, Anas. You have become the headline that needs no commentary, and the image that screens will never broadcast.

Journalist Anas al-Sharif and his companions exposed the occupation. Their voice reached every free person in the world. They played a major role in disseminating the Palestinian narrative. They exposed the lies of the occupation, and today they paid the price. May God have mercy on them.

The blood of Anas al-Sharif and other slain journalists is on the hands of Western media figures who have justified Israel’s crimes while ignoring, or excusing, the killing and intimidation of Palestinian journalists.
