15.02.2026 22:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Metal detecting is not covered by any of that system, however. No permission is needed (other than from a landowner) to detect. Unless a site is protected ('scheduled') by law, in which case detecting is a crime. There's around 20,000 such sites across England.
