The plot of the first episode is specifically about how they're re-opening Starfleet Academy, after what we assume is a hiatus of like 100+ years.

Seems clear that Starfleet has continued to exist, so logically all current officers trained at the War College. They wouldn't close it overnight.

People who don't know Star Trek assume the Vulcans are logical and cold and don't have emotions, when the truth is they embraced logic because their emotions are *so* strong.

Minnesotans are like that. Why do we emphasize being nice? Because when it's time to not be so nice, we're formidable.

Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

In MN, all police need at least a 2-year degree. Many have more than that. Professional LEOs should be objecting even harder than the rest of us.

ICE makes things worse. And they are bad at what they say is their job. They need to go.

The thing about the 80's is, it was damn near EVERY movie for a minute there. You could argue for a "Big Trouble in Little China" or a "Real Genius" or something like "Witness" or "Fatal Attraction." But overall, "Die Hard" has to be up there, right?

Personally, we find these made-up holidays contemptible, abhorrent, nauseating, repugnant, and unpalatable.

The AI tool used by ICE was tasked with looking for potential applicants with law enforcement experience to be placed into the agency’s “LEO program” — short for law enforcement officer — for new recruits who are already law enforcement officers. It requires four weeks of online training. Applicants without law enforcement backgrounds are required to take an eight-week in-person course at ICE’s academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Georgia, which includes courses in immigration law and handling a gun, as well as physical fitness tests. “They were using AI to scan résumés and found out a bunch of the people who were LEOs weren’t LEOs,” one of the officials said. The officials said the AI tool sent people with the word “officer” on their résumés to the shorter four-week online training — for example, a “compliance officer” or people who said they aspired to be ICE officers. The majority of the new applicants were flagged as law enforcement officers, the officials said, but many had no experience in any local police or federal law enforcement force.

You can't make this shit up. ICE recruitment used AI tools to sort applicants based on experience with law enforcement but fucked it up by including everyone who used the word "officer" in their application as "law enforcement officers"... who didn't require training.

Sometimes when I see a video cropping up over and over, especially when it's long, I become contrary and purposely avoid watching, but I'm really glad I watched this, it's as lovely as the OP says and I'm def going to follow them and watch their other videos.

Minneapolis is built different.

We band together, we help each other. We also don't like being told what to do or how to feel or who we are. We already know all that.

We live in a place that others call inhospitable. We know how to make it great. ICE is not that. They need to get the fuck out.

If arguing about what counts as a game is a valid thing, then I guess DISPATCH is a valid target for it. But I'm having a ton of fun on my second, "oh, now I know how to do this" run.
