Admittedly a bit nervous about having a drink. But it's worked today. Probably one too many whisky at home.

Back on the wagon tomorrow.

Crikey, Peroni is £7.10 a pint in my local. Not sure if that is good or bad. But I know my Guinness is just about to go north of £6.

But also a beginning.

Busy day tomorrow, but at some stage I will stop, have a couple at the pub and later on at home, one of the many beers left over from Xmas and a large whisky in a lovely glass.

That is my view.

Drinking has been part of my life for so long - that part is going to be smaller.

A beer in a proper pub, a cold beer outside in summer, a large scotch in a proper glass by a log fire. All of these will stay.

Like you it's not wine that I am looking forward to.

Come February, I'll be happy to have a pint and whisky/whiskey.

But wine is a different thing. I've always liked a red wine more than anything, but it doesn't appeal right now.

The main thing is I'm going to drink less.

Last day of dry January (modified) and it's been good.

I've felt better. Much better sleep. Spent less - it's not just me in the house. Not lost any weight.

Today should be straightforward as it is a busy day.

Despite being retired, Friday's are tough. It still feels like the gateway to the weekend.
Could so easily have swung by my local at the end of the afternoon dog walk, but I just went straight home.

Maybe it is an age thing, but I won't have supermarket or takeaway food delivered.
