In the TV, π are happier than before: they live in groups of n~10 in enriched environments with almost zero handling or transportation. And students are also much happier π: no monotonous and time-consuming mouse training. No coming to the lab on weekends to control water restriction (2/4).

A few years ago we dreamed about having an automated system in which our animals could live in and train on any behavioral task 24/7 w/o any human intervention. Today, we are very happy to share the Training Village (TV), an open system that can be used to train mice/rats in almost any task (1/4).

Informe del doctor RaΓΊl Incertis desde Gaza
These horrible pics taken by a Spanish physician in Jan Yunis document well many of the victims of the masacres perpetrated by the IDF over just three months in Gaza. Until when will this craziness continue? When will Israelis react to the suffering of the children in Gaza?

Heartbreaking. Maddening. How many more of these testimonies we need to hear before we believe this conflict has all the elements of a genocide?

This is very brave! Thanks Avner Wishnitzer for speaking up. I wonder what your colleagues, our colleagues, in Israeli academic institutions think about this. "Ask about Gaza, speak about Gaza, oppose the killing. Choose life." www.pressenza.com/2025/07/one-...

When is this massacre going to stop? What else has to happen for the international community to take action? And then they say they use human shields. This is unbearable.

BAMB!
Course philosophy
Our goal isβ to teach advanced techniques in model-based analysis of behavior (humans and other animals) to cognitive and computational neuroscientists at PhD and early career levels...
Our Barcelona-based summer school, BAMB! (bambschool.org) just opened applications! Come join us: 15-24th July, to learn how to model behavioral data using RL, Bayesian, latent variable models, RNNs, DDMs & more! #BAMB2025

Thanks for the reference. Looks very relevant and indeed very similar to what we found. It's very unfortunate that we were not aware of it (neither were our four reviewers π€·).

Really happy to see this is out. ππ Great team effort, from a couple of generations from 2 labs. I love how this fine understanding of the motor responses was possible thanks to some of our previous work carefully dissecting other aspects of the task (i.e. history effects and RTs). More to come! π
