Star Wars made its San Diego Comic-Con debut in 1976 - ten months before the first movie's release - at a panel hosted by comics illustrator Howard Chaykin and writer Roy Thomas, who shared early stills from the movie and discussed their upcoming comic adaptation of it:

The first-ever San Diego Comic-Con was held in August of 1970 in the still-under-construction basement of the U.S. Grant Hotel. It was attended by roughly 300 people, and featured Jack Kirby and sci-fi author Ray Bradbury as its inaugural guests of honor.

Upon its completion in 1906, the RMS Adriatic was the first ocean liner to feature both an indoor pool and a Turkish bath (a type of old-school sauna/spa). Many ships would follow suit with pools of their own - including the Titanic, which had a heated saltwater pool.
