Whenever I think of expensive birthday parties I remember the time my niece was in kindergarten (10 years ago) and she was invited to a birthday party at the Air and Space Museum where they rented out half the space or something? I think it was a $10k birthday party?

Whenever I have this fantasy (and it’s pretty often), I get stuck at the part where I would have to clean/organize my house for days before getting hit, on the likely chance that my mom would come to help my husband during my convalescence. Ends up not being worth it!

Not a great video but these babies in my holly bush are my favorite thing. Hatched on Mother’s Day! I watched as mama made the nest, day after day. Laid an egg, and then another and another. Sat on them day after day. First egg didn’t survive and she removed it and then these two lovelies are here!

When you posted the yarn the other day I thought “wow she is going to get a whole sweater done by then, that’s impressive” ..Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought you were doing four! You are super woman!

And this is why I never bought one of those gadgets.

What sucks is that these devices have tremendous value for people with disabilities. Voice commands and touchless automation are so helpful for people with mobility issues. Restricting their ability to protect their privacy is unconscionable.

I don’t know how to burn the system down. We’re all getting burnt instead.

But THEN I think.. this discomfort I’m feeling.. it’s not a new feeling for a lot of people. It’s that feeling that someone else will step on you, try to hold you back, gaslight you, and bully and abuse you. The system has been broken for so long for so many people. Cont..
