What’s rarely made explicitly outside Marxist analysis is that UBI would reduce in purposeful coercion inherent in capitalism, and thus upend the power of capital. That’s the real reason for resistance to implementation, not cost or taxes. Rich don’t want it bc poor won’t be forced to work or die.
