But there’s hope. Longevity science offers a path forward. It’s the only field uniquely positioned to prevent the chronic diseases of aging, extend healthy years, and reduce long-term costs. And despite the noise in Washington, it’s still one of the rare issues that enjoys bipartisan support.

While headlines swirl with political turmoil and federal funding for biomedical research faces cuts, one truth remains: Americans are living longer, but not healthier.

It was also a pleasure chatting with Andrea Olsen, an undergraduate at Caltech! She's leading the Caltech Longevity Club (caltechlongevity.com) that launched earlier this year and other cool initiatives she's building (all while still prioritizing sleep!) which is truly inspiring.

Your research on the brain’s regulation of appetite and thirst, particularly its sex-dependent mechanisms is incredibly valuable, especially as we seek to better understand these processes in the context of aging!

His research in uncovering the mechanisms behind the formation of cytoplasmic chromatin fragments in aging and senescence, with the goal of developing alternatives to senolytic drugs for treating age-related diseases and promoting healthy aging is super inspiring! :)

While ELOVL2 is often studied for its connection to methylation and biological aging, there's so much more to uncover in the eye—it’s truly a focal point of discovery!

In this episode, we discuss how she found her way to studying the eye—specifically, her research on the role of the gene ELOVL2 in the retina and the importance of polyunsaturated fatty acids in maintaining retinal function and integrity.

This confirms what we’ve known all along: longevity science needs better public awareness and accurate information—not hype and misinformation we currently face.

🔹 Science over politics. Many Americans support the right to try safe drugs, even if they haven’t passed efficacy trials.

🔹 Many Americans want more information before fully supporting any bill related to longevity medicine that would require taxpayer dollars.

🔹 People want to live long, healthy lives, but trust remains a barrier—especially when it comes to relying on science to achieve a full, healthy life to 100.

📢 A4LI just completed a national poll surveying 755 registered voters about their knowledge and support for longevity medicine. The results?

From what I know, yes… along with the communication freeze that took place in late January.
