I wonder if the term "geroscience" would be better than "longevity." "Longevity" has been adopted by quacks and grifters and is also used in many different ways. "Geroscience" might be reserved for more narrow use of research on aging biology and associated clinical trials.

Too true. HHS is the largest health organization in the world and should be headed by someone who adheres to science-based medicine rather than quackery and conspiracy-theory thinking.

PA indeed has an impressive biotech/pharma scene. There are high-profile startups/firms with a focus on age-related illness, like LyGenesis aiming for organ regeneration and Annovis Bio targeting neurodegeneration. Both are running clinical trials. Fostering these ecosystems is critically important.

Call on your house representatives to support a FY2026 budget bill that would preserve funding for NIH at the Senate Appropriations Committee approved level of $48.7B and adopt Senate language prohibiting a cap on indirect costs and limiting multi-year funded grants to levels consistent with FY2024
