As 32-year-old Rich points out, though, "it's not like using ChatGPT guarantees success".
When he met someone in a bar one Friday night and swapped social media handles, he asked AI what his next move should be.
ChatGPT discerned that sending an initial message on Monday midmorning would set the right pace. "Then it gave me some options for what the message could be," says Rich.
"Keep it light, warm, and low-stakes so it reads as genuine interest without urgency," the bot advised. "Something like: Hey Sarah, still laughing about [tiny shared moment/reference if you've got one] - good to meet you!" Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure there was a study in Finland that showed a strong social support net allowed women to live independently and settle down only if and when they wanted to.

The only reason this isn’t considered trafficking via fraud is because crime is something poor people do

GenAI truly was the worst technology to come along at this moment.

An energy and water guzzler when we most urgently need to take climate action.

A disinformation machine as our journalism fails.

A bias machine as fascism takes root.

A job killer in a cost of living crisis.

β€œYou’re so lucky! I wish I didn’t have to work!”

People act like we’re getting a permanent vacation.

The reality is we are forced to live in legislated poverty.

Barred from earning or marrying without losing our meagre benefits.

Denied autonomy.

And we’re sick & in pain.

It’s a 24/7 job.

A lot of people thought the Hamazaki Holiday Special was a weird pivot for the Like a Dragon anime to take, especially since basically every season is set in December anyway. πŸ–ŠοΈπŸ¦‘

A sponsorship installation for Musks Grok doing AI bullshit at the Tron Ares premiere.

A sponsorship installation for Musks Grok doing AI bullshit at the Tron Ares premiere.

Honestly, Grok sponsoring a Tron movie is the most anti-Tron thing and just shows how much Ares is straight up corporate tech bro propaganda. It’s very sad. Tron has such potential and never fully gets there. Legacy and Uprising are good but Tron: Identity tbh is the franchise peak.

The message must be "No bailouts for billionaires." AI is not too big to fail. And should it fail, the richest men in the world should be held accountable and take responsibility for their failures.

I'll never forget the pitch of a (thankfully failed) startup I ran across years ago, that was basically "Don't you wish you could monetize your friendships? Now you can! Our new app and shitcoin makes it easy to keep track of the favors you do for one another, to cash in later!"

Funnily enough, my first time with that fight was my easiest. I was a dragoon and the math just worked out so I could land before he went. Until I replayed it I had no idea why others had a hard time.

A little ferret with his little head in my hand

I hope this little dude never outgrows the part of his personality that says β€œif you see an open human hand, that’s where your tiny face should go”. He does it literally all the time. If I present my hand to him and he’s not super hyper (even if he is sometimes), he just puts his head there.

Please do as shaun says, but not before reporting the account for spreading disinfo.

genAI is so good nowadays that we're all gonna get got eventually, but being told/shown over and over that you're disseminating a lie, and just ignoring people who point it out, is a serious red flag.

Close up of Pinkie Pie looking at a newspaper comic saying β€œHmpf. I thought these were supposed to be funny?”

The comic is called Ponybert by Trot Adams. It opens with a building and we see a word balloon that says β€œWell?” The second panel is of Ponybert, the Dilbert stand-in saying β€œNo one is smart but me.”

Thinking about that time the My Little Pony comics, of all things, absolutely bodied Scott Adams.

Cis people are perfectly capable of objecting to the current crop of Harry Potter fascist sympathisers with the same stridency as they did to Kimmel’s cancellation or the Riyadh Comedy Festival. They simply choose not to, because they agree with Rowling that we must be kept down at heel.

Not knowing anything about the Mariners, I thought the people raving about Humpy were talking about a player.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I've discovered Humpy is a salmon mascot who lost over 160 races before winning one during game 5 last night moments before the walk-off single win

Did the Mariners finally win ALDS Game 5 because of Humpy the Salmon? Humpy won his first ever Salmon Run Friday night -- just before the Mariners secured a win and advanced to the ALCS.
