Not convinced the move was designed to send Sheehan that early, or high up. But Farrell decided to take contact regardless. Then when he offloaded & Kinghorn tried to go wide on a miss one, Aki overran and palmed a knock on. Wasteful play. Poor Centre partnership - but both Andy Farrell favourites.

Sione starts ahead of Aki, and Scott Cummings is on that bench, then neither the Lions lineout collapses nor their play across the line struggles as soon as it reaches 12. Poor Coaching by Farrell.

Kinghorn stopped chasing & threw his arms up. Not a good look tbh - but I have to say Aki being a good two metres ahead of where he should have been, and knocking it on yet again, would have likely frustrated the hell out of me too. Especially as he’s there over Sione, who is superb.

Andy Farrell was celebrated for his team selection after that First Test. His selection decisions for this test were poor - and backfired badly. Aki & Farrell in the middle were especially poor. For all the column inches written, both players look well past their best.

Aki overran that line by a mile.
