Breaking: We filed a lawsuit against the SOS for certifying an intentionally misleading and inaccurate summary statement & fair ballot language for a measure that would overturn the recent voter-passed protections for reproductive freedom. The bill passed as HJR 73 but has been assigned Amendment 3.

They fled plantations, organized work stoppages and slow downs, engaged in violent resistance and joined the Union Army.
Today, we celebrate our ancestors who secured their own freedom and who gave a clear path to do the same for ourselves.
Enslaved people’s knowledge of their own freedom, born of their own organized and multifaceted resistance, posed a particular threat to those who sought to silence them.
Before and during the Civil War, enslaved people engaged in all manner of resistances, armed and otherwise.
Juneteenth was first celebrated by formerly enslaved people on June 19, 1866.
Emancipation’s full history can scarcely be summed up by a single day or announcement.
Recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when the Union army advanced in TX & OK declaring the last enslaved people there free.
The 1865 declaration came 2 months after the end of the Civil War & more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Power rests with the people. Thousands of Missourians peacefully protested the government's abuse of power. Without any evidence to support his reasoning, Kehoe activated the National Guard. The order continues even as Kehoe visits France. Kehoe should rescind the order and apologize to Missourians.

It is critical that Missourians who plan on attending know and educate others of their rights around protests and police interactions. We emphasize attendees to prioritize de-escalation, even in moments of governmental provocation and fear-mongering, and to lookout for one another. 👇🏿👇🏼👇🏻
