We need to teach people the difference between being uncomfortable and being unsafe. Because the discomfort of the safest people is endangering the most vulnerable, all day every day.

The rate of recidivism for incarcerated women who participate in prison theatre programs is far lower than the general formerly incarcerated population. It's powerful stuff. My favorite was The Medea Project. I wept during those shows. But so many companies doing great work w incarcerated ppl

#1 would get money to more people but #2 would be a larger impact for one person. There are also numerous intangible benefits to theatre for participants and the neurology is just getting started describing the benefits to attendees. I would choose #1 because it has the greater overall impact.
