Leftists campaigned for who they wanted, not against Harris. I was actually puzzled by the apparent optimism amongst the Lesser of Two Evils faction, which manifested itself in a strident howl for everyone to vote for a candidate they didn't want. I suspect the problem was the candidate.

Its not very difficult to determine who has policies that click with someone's aspirations and interests. The problem isn't at that point, the problem comes later if they win and then renege on those policies. That's just a problem with democracy, in that case you simply don't vote for them again.

Exactly. To do otherwise perpetuates a system that offers evil choices, with the expectation that you should pick your chosen lesser evil. The idea of not presenting an evil choice appears to baffle some people. A poor candidate does not deserve a vote otherwise that is all you will be offered.

The real world for you is an endless succession of lesser of two evils choices where nothing ever changes for the better. Voting for the lesser of two bad choices means you end up with a bad choice, with only the prospect of a worse choice to sooth the pain. What a shitty outlook.

Egypt had already rejected Israeli requests to allow Palestinian resettlement in the Sinai prior to 7/10.

And btw, have you ever considered the fact that Egypt built a high wall to stop Israel forcing the population of Gaza out of the territory, just as it refused Israel's demand to allow the Rafah Crossing open so it could expel the population?

2) Hamas did not "take over", Hamas won local elections in Jan 2005 winning 7 out of the 10 councils in Gaza. Israel withdrew to the Gaza border 8 months later. Fatah at that point still controlled the PA police within Gaza. Hamas had a 10 month ceasefire when it won in Jan 2006. All facts..
