An ill-informed, biased rhetoric has won, which is appalling.

Trans people's evidence was excluded. Where is the balance in that?

Access decisions should be made on a case-by-case basis, which is much fairer, and doesn't erase / sideline non-binary people and trans men.

Instead the debate has been driven into a corner by a biased argument, coloured by misinformation, and distorted by fearmongering.

This outcome fails to represent how sex and gender actually work, which arguably undermines the ruling - and puts vulnerable people at risk.

There are plenty of ways to protect women's spaces and services. Limiting them to women assigned female at birth as a blanket rule is not the best way at all.

Instead, we should have been looking to define women in a way that includes trans women and still respects biological sex.

Of course this is possible, as sex and gender are interrelated but not the same thing.

Yesterday's ruling on #women and #genderidentity is both wrong and right - and has answered the wrong question.

Of course being a woman is defined by biological sex. But that is not the only way to be a woman. And that does not adequately represent gender expression either.

Some have said RFK's speech is more anti-science, more eugenics than any misplaced intention to 'help' could be.

Either way, the misinformation, the erasure is real.

We are having this conversation on platforms and technologies designed, built and maintained by #actuallyautistic people like us.

It's even worse than that. Of late, too many mainstream journalists are under-resourced, prevented from doing much investigation or research, rather working from newswires and press releases under editorial dictat.

Yet another industry of colour by numbers- * even for those who do care. *

Beautifully said. But this is how trauma survivors end up in tiny bubbles that keep them safe in the short-term can become hugely dysfunctional over time. I think my best response to your comment is this:

IMHO important to consider as EXD appears to amplify impacts of depression, bipolar & other severe mental health issues. Known issue for autistic people too.
