but i think its so affecting so much because its just that uncynical view of the world you had as a child

nowadays those storylines are (rightfully) complicated by questions like well were your parents actually good people and are the hyenas actually ontologically evil and should the structure of your kingdom even exist

i think it opened a nostalgia in me for the simplicity of a story thats just like. the ones we love never really leave us and if we stay true to ourselves we can do right by them.

ohohoho this was such a delightful story..the payoffs are great (i gasped so many times), the interweaving of tenses and perspectives is so seamless, and i /will/ be studying the way you put scenes against each other, the structure is just so so good
