A year after Iowa's 'heartbeat' law went into effect, abortions in Iowa have sharply declined This week marks one year since a state law went into effect banning abortion when cardiac activity is detected, with some exceptions. The law has had drastic effects on abortion care in the state.

It's been more than a year since Iowa's six-week ban went into effect.

Our data shows the impact: the average number of abortions dropped from 400 to 260 per month. More people are traveling out of state, and new restrictions may be coming.

‼️ Today, the Trump administration announced its plan to ban abortions for veteransβ€”even in cases of rape or incest, and when the veteran's health is in danger.

To devalue veterans in this way and take away life-changing health care would be UNCONSCIONABLE.

#Nevada’s parental notification law is now in effect.

Nevada joins 9 other states requiring parental notification before a minor’s abortion.

Young people know what’s best for themselves. They deserve abortion access without barriers.

The Trump administration wants to destroy at least $11 million of taxpayer-funded #contraception, including condoms and IUDs, even though other countries and organizations offered to buy or distribute them.

That is cruel and wasteful.
