Put broadly, this was my experience in The Other Place

• Too “conservative” for progressive Christian Twitter
• Too “progressive” for conservative Christian Twitter.
• Too much politics & religion for Taylor Swift Twitter.
• Too much Taylor Swift for pretty much everyone else.

He recently pontificated on Xitter that you can’t be a conservative evangelical and be on bluesy (I had to reach behind my block to see if the screenshot was real 😂) so I really doubt this is him.

Someone said to me afterwards “your conviction that Scripture is true and that we can understand it shines through every one of your preaches” and honestly? best feedback I’ve ever had.

Just had a big bout of 1am Unpleasant Thoughts™ and while that wasn’t fun, once they were over they were over (aka they aren’t still festering at 2am), and it reminded me what a huge difference not being depressed makes. 👏🏻🧠

I’m preaching on Ephesians 5.15-33 tomorrow. Prep has been hard, but it’s reminded me how much I love it when churches don’t skip the hard bits of scripture, as if they are something to be feared.
