I love learning about various human societies' legends and beliefs surrounding the Milky Way. Recently I learned about some Australian Aboriginal people who believed the galaxy was a river that souls crossed in a canoe, and the stars were their campfires along the river. Beautiful.

This has been such an interesting week talking with so many people in my own life I did not know are impacted by PCOS. Every story and diagnosis almost completely different. #PCOS #OnMyPapa #TheVennDialogues

What is usually recommended for those with PCOS to help alleviate any symptoms of the syndrome or to find hormonal balance?

In fact, we know there is, because every article on the subject seems to be hand waving through the topic. Based on the accounts I have read and heard this week - the medical community owes those impacted more. #PCOS

In learning that genetics are theorized to be key in PCOS, I am flabbergasted that the conversation only sits within the genome of humans with ovaries. Especially since those with PCOS would likely experience difficulty with having children. So there has to be more to this conversation? #OnMyPapa

Before this episode we knew nothing about PCOS. And since the episode has dropped, we're realizing we have entered an ongoing conversation that really needs to be deepened not only socially, but also scientifically. Starting with potentially considering renaming #PCOS #OnMyPapa

Since PCOS is more common and often more severe in Black women, it's time to start an open, honest discussion about some of the misconceptions and lies we have been told about this condition.
