16.08.2025 20:57 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I donβt know where to go and I donβt know where Iβve been. I hate the map system so fucking much.
23.07.2025 00:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I love how quickly it falls apart if you vary it slightly.
This isn't hard. If a human intelligence doesn't infringe copyright by being an artist while reading a comic, then a photocopier doesn't either.
Oh wait.
It really only takes 3 steps.
1. Hire a personal chef to prep individual meals for everyone.
2. Find several miracle snacks that your kids love, that you wonβt want to eat.
3. Convince everyone at every kidβs activity to hire the same personal chef and serve the same miracle snacks.
Done.
Ah, sorry. Iβll leave the levity aside then.
Youβre smart and dedicated in a way that allows to you excel at things you take on, and in the process youβve developed a wide range of new skills and capabilities that are impressive to see.
Today might suck. You donβt. Itβll work out eventually.
Itβs complimenting your excellent taste in friends!
(Friends who choose you too because youβre amazing in your own right.)
Smart, entertaining and funny are all accurate ways to describe your friends.

07.05.2025 18:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβs why I included an archive link from 2021. You canβt make up archive links.

Itβs not AI. It was uploaded in 2020 before generative AI was a thing. https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/social-distancing-during-covid-19-pandemic-gm1214516643-353394652
24.04.2025 03:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One thing Iβd love for you to cover more is to go into why itβs important to probe what generative AI fails at.
Casey seems to think itβs just gotcha stuff, but itβs important for understanding how the system works and why it has certain limitations.

@samandfuzzy.com Just a heads up, I think the site RSS feed stopped updating.
19.11.2024 18:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Right. And if it were learning, that might be valid. But with a complex mix and match engine, itβs just infringement. They use terms like learning to obfuscate that itβs a remixing tool thatβs not legally protected.
19.11.2024 00:33 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Youβve convinced me that I need to write and draw an updated version of the Elves and the Shoemaker for email jobs.
19.11.2024 00:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Four cartoon figures (king, fighter fighter, doctor, clown) broke up into three interchangeable parts (head, top, bottom).
I like to think of generative AI like one of those kid mix and match toys. Thereβs no learning, just variations.
And the more specific the prompt, the less variation from the original images.
Since it doesnβt have mixable parts when you ask for a movie screencaps, it just recreates known ones.
Clayface is now just a guy who tripped in a puddle.
18.11.2024 15:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That makes sense. At some point social media (mainly Twitter) became less about community for me and more about a false moral obligation to be a witness.
15.11.2024 03:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm gonna be honest, from 2016-2020, I think I sought out βnewsβ to justify my anger. But it didnβt help me help anyone else.
15.11.2024 03:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Does anyone have a good primer on using feeds? I get the feeling BlueSky isnβt set up for reading everything the way Twitter was, and it feels like feeds are the best way to connect to more niche communities.
15.11.2024 03:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I know the worst of the terribleness wonβt hit Canada until next year, but I think this cycle I want to find more people who offer small ways to help. My brain canβt handle the rage fear cycle for another four years again.
15.11.2024 03:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve added a new rule too. Iβm gonna block anyone who rage farms other peopleβs pain if they donβt demonstrate that theyβre trying to help those people in other ways.
15.11.2024 03:37 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Iβm really thrilled how many of my niche communities are actually transitioning this time.
15.11.2024 03:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The other side of this is that if a company was manufacturing in America, tariffs on their imports may actually make it cheaper to import the final product than to import the materials with tariffs and produce here.
None of this helps American manufacturing in these cases.
One point you may want to add, when American Apparel did it, it was only final manufacturing in the US. Trumpβs tariffs means even that wonβt save money unless all the materials are made in the US too.
Which means some American companies wonβt even get the choice.
I see the difference as having to pay to eat at a restaurant versus having to pay a toddler to eat their mud pie.
