It's not perfect by any means -- it consistently got stuck on very stupid and obvious syntax errors in the configs it generated. But overall this is a great example of "I know what needs to be done, but really can't be bothered to learn all the details required." Great use-case for LLMs in dev.

First unmitigated success using LLMs while programming: updating an extremely out of date nodeJS project to use modern build tools. I was stuck in the weeds for days, dealing with CJS/ESM, various transpiler/build configs, etc. Finally just had Claude take care of it.

The hook isn't just catchy - it's unresolvable. Every time you hear "I'm still Jenny from the block" your brain goes "but are you though?" and then the song immediately loops back to insisting yes, she is, before you can actually decide. It's like an argument that never ends because neither side can prove their case. She can't prove she hasn't changed (the song is literally evidence she has), but you can't prove she has changed inside (how would you know?). So your brain just keeps circling. Plus the rhythm makes you want to move, but the words make you want to think, and those two impulses keep interrupting each other. You're bopping along but also puzzling over this weird self-contradiction. And there's something almost hypnotic about someone insisting they're the same person over and over. Like when someone says their name too many times and it starts to sound fake. The more she says it, the more unstable the whole concept of "Jenny" becomes. Your brain latches onto it because it's a riddle disguised as a pop song. But it's a riddle with no answer, so you just keep trying to solve it forever.

Today I am feeling really, profoundly sad, that after losing my career as a film composer due to hyperacusis, I found a new love in programming -- just in time for it to be taken away by the worst job market in decades and AI.
