This has noting to do with working class ethics. It's a scatter-gunned attack on publishers with reputation in the indie scene on the basis of having a reputation in the first place, all of whom are highly regarded for lifting up marginalised communities.

This libel has been circulating online for months now.
Bad Betty are infamous only for their professionalism.
Hem's editor has worked with @brokensleepbooks.bsky.social in varying capacities over the years.
HLR is a personal friend of Hem's editor.
The others cited are respected poets.
Two books on my desk, LHS is the green and red striped striking cover of Nikki Dudley's Exorcism Becomes Habit and RHS is Rupert Loydell's Wildlife, cover shows colour illustrations of animals - tiger, rhino, giraffe, crocodile etc.

This places fault on Hem Press, which holds itself to high standards, where the fault was with Elgin. That it took time to ensure Elgin wasn't a scam contributed to this delay. Having this raised publicly, and so unprofessionally, does not give me confidence. [2/2].
