How to Clean Up Our Water: Why Public Ownership in Law Costs Zero The Government has said it would cost Β£99 billion to nationalise Thames Water. The true cost in law is closer to zero.

it is so devastating and big ups to all volunteers who are literally cleaning up a mess caused by the private sector.
Great piece from @cmmonwealth.bsky.social here

β€˜Environmental catastrophe’ fears as millions of plastic beads wash up on Camber Sands MP asks for explanation from Southern Water amid concerns the spill could have dire impact on rare sea life

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

What will it take for this government to nationalise water?
Rather than just spout (faulty and biased sums) about how it's too expensive?

Because this is likely caused by privately owned Southern Water, who deliberately dumped raw sewage into seas for years. πŸ’©

The beloved Saleh Al-Jafarawi has been murdered. We are absolutely devastated. For 2 years he reported on the genocide of his people, just for him to be murdered during the β€˜ceasefire’

I've been writing about Phyllis Schlafly and right-wing women vs Shere Hite and found this superb!

I'm hoping for some discussion of Schlafly's self-help book, 'the power of the positive woman' in part 2.

Out now!
In this book I explore struggles for reproductive rights & liberty in postwar France - telling a different story about the era of sexual liberalisation & legal reform, avoiding a celebratory narrative but looking at persisting injustices and inequalities.

I have an amazing osteo if you were looking for a recommendation! She is v knowledgeable about anatomy and trustworthy! She also studies the bible from a Christian, feminist perspective. So you can learn about maligned female saints while your back gets fixed πŸ‘Œ

2/2 Then, feminists focus on women's powerlessness has resulted in men now being more oppressed than women. imo he is key to manosphere idea that the world is now stacked in feminist and women's favour.

1/2 the trajectory was focus on 'sex roles.' In his first work Farrell discusses how male sex role oppresses women but men too pay a high price (true!) but later it becomes just 'sex role' focussed, men are as oppressed as women. memorably: 'women are sex objects, men success objects.' (!?)

from Warren Farrell's The Liberated Man (1974!!) Makes it even sadder and more disappointing that Farrell descends into men's rights activism...

amazing that the anti-sexist men's movement propose gender-neutral pronouns (te/tir) & attachΓ© as alternative to husband/wife.

As someone who likes a smart briefcase I could get on board!

Yes! I really like what Sophie Smith says about forgotten women, that it’s not just a process of natural memory loss but always political.
