Good news! The #RentersRightsBill has received royal assent - this landmark legislation will give vital protections to the millions of private renters in the UK. A happy day.

Now it's time to tackle the next crisis facing renters - affordability. That must include rent controls.

In November Birmingham will be joining cities across the world to demand action on climate. Cardboard Carnival Saturday 15th November, 10am - 4pm, The Edge, 79-81 Cheapside. B12 0QH To coincide with the COP30 international climate conference in Belém, Brazil, climate activists and youth groups in Birmingham are holding a ‘Cardboard Carnival’ with arts, crafts, music, dancing, refreshments, and a live link up with youth groups in Europe and South America. The event will be hosted by Friction Arts at The Edge arts and community space near the City Centre. It will be youth led but all ages are welcome.

Today is intersex Awareness Day. There are many reasons why this day is necessary; as the rhetoric against trans people often doesn't factor in intersex people, and all the while, it also directly harms and vilifies them.

In the next weeks, the UK gov will decide to reject or approve this disaster project.
