Our species has covered a lot of ground. I think adaptability is our most distinctive feature! My most baffling bit of DNA is the 2% East Asian! Mongolian invasion perhaps? And I seem to have less Neanderthal with only .8% compared the the 2.1% average! Most non-Africans have about 1.1%!

My brother went with Ancestry.com which I think traces who's who in one's specific background. My name which means Spanish may have come from a Jew who emigrated from Spain who was a 14th century salt merchant in Termini Imerese where my grandparents came from. I found him in the baptismal records!

That's great! I did my DNA through National Geographic years ago when they were doing the genome project. There was no attachment to personal ancestors, it was about deep ancestry migration out of Africa and when different groups left and where they went. The results are scientifically fascinating!

Not uncommon in Northern New Mexico. The Spanish were not shy about taking advantage of native women, my mother's DNA showed she was 25% native. My 7% is eclipsed by my dad having been Sicilian.
