We're going to print outside intellectual properties on Magic cards using reskins and silver borders. Wotc Actually, we'll print the outside properties in black border, but we'll also offer in-universe versions. Wotc Actually, we won't offer in-universe versions, but uB won't be legal in Standard. Wotc Actually, UB will be legal in Standard, but only half of the sets will be uB. Wotc Actually, there'll be four uB sets and three in-universe sets in 2026, but it'll be half and half in 2027. Fire emblem shadows is a weird game to even approach trying to talk about. On the one hand its gameplay is dreadfully simple, getting old incredibly quickly, lacking any kind of strategic depth and being online-only. On the other hand, this game has presentation at a standard I would expect from a mainline entry. The character art is some of the most beautiful and evocative designs since Echoes. The game is fully voiced with excellent performances across the board, and the script, while nothing special is far more rich when compared to heroes. I also really want to applaud Kurt, the main protagonist and their complicated relationship with gender identity, that was a gutsy choice and in my opinion is a very good sign of Fire Emblem’s willingness to shed its heteronormative identity and become a more inclusive and diverse franchise, even if they stumble along the way. There are massive amounts of good here, and the games uncertain future is a real shame because of all that good present. – I just wish I could say the same for how it treats the legacy characters who feature as guests.

This is basically my take on Fire Emblem Shadows, distilled into a single paragraph.

I don't have the vocabulary necessary to to describe how tired I am of being expected to meet the people who want to hurt me and my friends and people like me and my friends just because of who we are "halfway". It will never happen
