I think this is great post, Al. It’s free of any bias emotion, looks at the situation fairly, and to me, shows a great understanding of the dynamics it could create among the fan base and team. Thank you for sharing it!

I think the latter point is what is so upsetting to most. No matter the outcome of the trial, the text evidence remains. Nor have these two players shown public remorse. Also, I’ve yet to see one woman refute that. And this, I think, is the bigger story.

Because there is a big difference between a “mistake” around getting drunk and deliberately taking advantage of someone else’s body and lying to police about it. If we women still have to teach grown men this…. Well there’s the problem right there.

Then what power do fans have? What does it take for something to change? Genuine questions.
