The part near the beginning of close encounters where you see the shadow of the ufo passing over Dreyfus’s car messed me up as a kid. I was paranoid of open skies at night because I could just imagine an alien thing watching me, unseen

With the exception of the Smallville pilot, and maybe various selected episodes of TV later, we are avoiding the small screen on the pod, mostly for these reasons lmao

Maybe it’s just the horus heresy fan in me but I think I’d rather have a show about the founding of the Imperium as a whole and not just the BG

Having just watched all the Superman movies so far, the origin is told in 78 and again in 1980 in a ridiculousy long flashback montage, and then the origin of Kal-el and krypton is explained again in both Superman Returns and man of steel. So, so lot

Obviously not having seen the whole movie I can’t say this for sure but just from the teaser I wonder if a DC universe with this tone (as opposed to the dour tone of Man of Steel) would have fared better with WB’s mad rush to catch up to the MCU in the 10s than the movies they actually put out did

Having just watched all live action Superman movies in the past couple of months, I think this looks promising. I won’t be watching the full trailer bc I want to maximize surprise but I like the vibe of this. How they handle the Clark/Superman dynamic will be important to how I view it
