Surprise, other people have interiority of their own and do not share all of your own experiences, beliefs, and knowledge

each day demands we create our whole world over,
disguising the constant horror in a coat
of many-colored fictions; we mask our past

Text below says WENN'S MAL WIEDER SCHNELL GEHEN MUSS (When you need to move fast)

Underneath is more German text which translates as "The Bรถcker Agilo transports your treasures weighing up to 400kg at 42m/min - quiet as a whisper."

The German company that makes the mechanical ladder used in the Louvre heist has used the image to advertise, with the text 'When you need to move fast'

A very incomplete list of things we wouldn't have done if we waited for the normies to care:

- abolish slavery
- child labor laws
- votes for women
- social security
- fdic
- welfare
- medicare
- medicaid
- desegregation
- women's sports

"I'm certain this Nazi will vote how I want him to and not vote like a Nazi" is a very embarrassing thing that a lot of people are saying.

People know that some of the south is on the east coast, right? I live in South Carolina and you canโ€™t throw a stone without hitting a better bbq joint than literally any of the ones in New York City.

used to be that solving puzzles that open portals to hell was something to avoid, but at this point how much worse could it be? worth at least day tripping into the portal, check out the housing market there, give it a look-see

i think people need to internalize that we all have different roles to play in the same movement and itโ€™s ok it some of us are doing complicated work and others are holding signs in a costume

I know weโ€™ve been using โ€œdeeply unseriousโ€ in a positive sense for the protests that incorporate humor and silliness and joy

but if youโ€™re sour that millions of people across the country came together to say weโ€™re not going quietly into fascism, you are deeply unserious in a bad way

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time youโ€™re inclined to write an area off because โ€œthey voted for this.โ€

If I had explain American history in one sentence, I could do worse than "John Brown was hung for treason, but Robert E. Lee was not."

This may seem cute but if you do this too much the cyclists may become reliant on cars feeding them, disrupting the delicate roadway ecosystem

Your AI written novel isn't going to stand out from the exponential crowd of other AI written novels. There is no qualitative difference between any of them and there's a massive amount of them. The end result is another wholly unremarkable thing in a sea of unremarkable things, it is valueless.

Thatโ€™s a great way to put it. Horror can be an amazing way to storytell about real-life dark stuff like child abuse and even show people unfamiliar with it what itโ€™s like, but it takes some care and deliberation to do it well and in a way that doesnโ€™t freak out the people the storyโ€™s about.

Same! There was nothing in that scene that had to be *that* graphic to make the points the filmmakers wanted to make. Maybe if I didnโ€™t have PTSD Iโ€™d feel differently? But for me it was jarring and brutal in a way that didnโ€™t add to the film (which I overall really liked!)

16.10.2025 19:47 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I had to pause the movie and take half an hour to recuperate before continuing on after that scene.
