The northernmost record store in the world is in the Arctic Circle, at the top of Norway. The southernmost is at the bottom of New Zealand's South Island. As of about five minutes ago, it is my life's ambition to write a travel book visiting different record shops, journeying between the two.

(Although not necassarily the case with the article linked above - I suspect a good chunk of this gatekeeping is because many newer Guinness drinkers are Gen Z and/or women

There's a much, much more interesting article to be written on the Gatekeeping Of Guinness. It's mad to see how many folk portray one of the best known drinks in the world as some secret, underground ritual.

Finally getting around to reading some HST, as is a rite of passage for any white male writer in their mid-20's. The surprising thing is how bloody good it is! Most of the essays in here are worlds more interesting than the self-indulgent excess that I'd expected. Lovely clear sentences too.
