A monochrome image of a man standing on railroad tracks looking down the tracks. The man is holding his hands behind his back. Directly behind him is what appears to be an old railroad signal. In front of the man is an old railroad boxcar. There are old wooden buildings and railroad artifacts scattered around. Everything is weathered and decaying. A second set of tracks runs parallel. Beyond the tracks and buildings are rolling hills crossed by a road in one direction and power lines in another. Beyond the hills are mountains in haze. The sky is overcast with dark cumulus clouds that give the image a slightly ominous feel. Three power lines run across the top of the photograph.

Como, Colorado. The South Park area of Colorado is both interesting and beautiful. If you ever find yourself in Denver with a day to kill, head south to Fairplay.

An image of a green valley. On the bottom right of the photo is a broken dead tree. Bits of a small dirt road are visible across the bottom. The middle of the photograph is predominantly a meadow with evergreens scattered across it. The top third is more heavily wooded with a small lake on the left.

I don’t recall what led me to take a landscape photograph in portrait orientation, but here it is. I like it better than the landscape orientation shots I made that day.
I think this is on the million dollar highway in 2017.

For about the first year after I retired, I would get a sense of dread, but it would be rapidly replaced by joy upon the realization that I never had to go back to the office again.

The river is low, but from the top of the gorge, it pretty much always looks like that - even in the spring. Beautiful shot.

It gives the impression of a dome within an arch. Good shot.

In the foreground is a walking path. On the right side between the path and the camera is the rust covered body of an antique car. To the right of the car is an abstract sculpture on a concrete pedestal. The sculpture is a metal circle that is red on the outside and blue on the inside. Just past the path is a wire fence, and beyond the fence is a field speckled with juniper bushes that stretches to the hills.

The windows reflect the sky and the window on the left reflects a tangled wood and rock mobile that hangs from a beam. Above the beam 2 vigas are visible. I got a new lens today a #Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S. I think I’m going to like it. This is a shot of my front porch. Shooting pueblo style architecture never gets old.
