I love the first two Shenmues and backed part 3 within minutes after the e3 announcement before the site went down... but man, Shenmue 3 is so bad anyone playing it is deserving of getting donations for charity for themselves.

I think only having diagonals can help gameplay too if you want to have platforming for example. It keeps the player more on track to land in the right place. With pixel perfect 8 way movement it can be difficult to not accidentally miss in an isometric world. Just my opinion.

Ja, schon klar, so eine Collection wo ein nummerierter Teil fehlt wäre merkwürdig. Ist eher so ein generelles Ding für mich im Zeitalter von „alles muss überall jederzeit verfügbar sein“.
Ich denke es kommt, und der Producer will/darf es nicht vorm offiziellen Reveal sagen weils der Aufhänger ist.

Würde das nicht zu ernst nehmen. Interviews mit japanischen Devs sind eh oft ein bisschen wie mit Poitikern, schön schwammig.
Ein FFVII Remake war auch mal unmöglich.

Aber in gewisser Weise fänd ich’s fast gut, wenns PS3-exklusiv bliebe. Jede Konsole dürfte imo ein paar tolle Exclusives behalten.🫣

By far the best entry in the series imo.
And yes, it may be the best looking of the sub-genre of RPGs using sprites in 3D environments on PS1.

I feel this game sadly flew under the radar a bit, being a late release when everyone was excited for PS2 and the PS1 was crowded with bigger budget RPGs.

Your point is understood, but I don´t feel it´ll have a positive effect for anyone. Imo it plays into the old narratives that people on the left can´t take a joke and worry more about form than about the actual matters themselves. Imo it´s a losing approach putting more people off than it wins over.

I‘m not American so it’s not directly my issue but I think this is global: posting about this so much is a prime example of why many people feel the left is nitpicking everything and everyone in a purity test.

Dann muss ich leider zugeben, lieber asozial zu sein.
Aber ich muss auch zugeben mich nie stressfreier, entspannter und zufriedener gefühlt zu haben als während des Lockdowns.

I‘ve been following the project for a few years now and I love the enthusiasm and wish them the best.
The complete rewrite is worrying though. All the graphical assets should be fine but redoing the coding sounds like a herculean and expensive task assuming someone is paid to program. Best of luck!

I honestly think that the fact that these kinds of jabs lead to criticism is a major reason why the left is often regarded as lacking humor and the ability to recognize what’s important. It‘s not about analyzing every word under a microscope and sanitize behavior to the max.

SEGA‘s PAL manuals were the worst. Instead of making one section of the manual English, one German, one French etc they felt it was a great idea to put all languages on each double page in columns. One column with English, next to one column in German etc.

My guess is the writer may have known some German or just used a dictionary and come up with a basic dialogue scene between lovers talking some ridiculous stuff.

Even Trevor at least adressing a lady lets me think the words aren’t just random, even if severely butchered.

For Trevor his pronounciation is worse but I am sure he said „gnädige Frau“, an old fashioned way to say Misses. It‘s barely used unironically anymore because it feels like adressing someone of higher standing (literally gracious lady). For American writers faking a classic Opera I could imagine it.

I think it may be real lyrics?

I hear her singing „Und das will ich auch nicht“ (and that‘s not what I want either) and „Entschuldigung, oder es werde Sonntag“ (I‘m sorry/excuse me or let it be Sunday) but I may be over interpreting.

Even real Opera lyrics are hard to follow without reading along.
