That aunt or grandma who had to skip town after her husband disappeared, and the uncle who escaped a lynch mob after shooting someone showing up to his doorstep in hooded sheets are proof we didn’t just take shit lying down.

The idea that our elders passively accepted second class citizenship and racism really irks my soul. A gang of folks had to skip town after going ham on someone trying to rob them of dignity or violently impose racism on them.

They also need to accept that conservatives have entirely eroded the soft power associated with a moral high-ground. Your constituents want you to project strength.

Democrats need more than razor thin majorities packed with lukewarm democrats in purple states. Those people typically sides with conservatives on every issue that matters.

I believe their investment in rugged individualism is what they need to give up. Collectivism, as its counterpart, will rid them of the need to invest in white exceptionalism.

What I love most about Kanye is that what he’s investing in is quickly destroying him.

I love that for them. Their constituents will cease to depend on conservative narratives, and since politicians rely on the populace for power they will lose their ability to harm everyone.

I think they should keep doing it, and the right should continue cannibalizing itself. It will eventually weaken their grip on the public and something new can emerge.

I’m not a fan of his, “give him what he wants until everyone is so hurt it fucks them into voting for us,” strategy for several reasons. He’s absolutely not built for the moment but there’s not a scenario with a better outcome for the people.

I really don’t understand why the base wants him to fight beyond the semblance of standing up to a bully. Either way we lose, we have no ground to change anything to a federal government that wants to cannibalize itself anyway and a shut down would put us in crisis.

I wouldn’t do a town hall. We would just have collective solution based think tanks so they can see an idea they helped generate, become a bill they can back and see get passed or blocked by opposition

Folks getting laid off, I’m trying to ramp up job fairs with private companies in the area, we are using state funds to fund credit union initiatives that create customer minded services (think, texts to inform you of low balance & small short term loans)

Price of eggs trash and groceries getting too expensive, I helped several communities establish direct connections to farmers and organize collective purchasing funds to be able to buy in bulk and split the costs.

I’d spend 0 political capital fighting what can not be achieved, but you’d always catch me resourcing my constituency, helping them amass more political power, fighting with them locally and statewide and connecting them to organizations

If I were democratic leadership, I’d revisit that idea about making Pete Buttigieg the unofficial press secretary, and go back to my district as often as possible to build and prepare community for what’s coming.

Did you people forget Kristin sinema and Joe manchin blocked literally every democratic led piece of legislation? I almost feel like you want this narrative more than political synthesis that leads to more power to the people

Liberalism is not dying. Conservatism is. That’s why conservatives are trying vigilantly to kill liberal ideas and spaces.

Because telling me it’s going to end up costing us all an extra trillion raises my anxiety, but telling me my MacBook will now cost $1800 for a base model and the cost increase on a car is about the price of an additional used car gets me angry.

I wish media outlets would get more granular with the costs to the everyday voter. These abstract large numbers don’t frighten self-interested voters the way they should.

Peel the curtains back, then tell us that democratic norms can’t help us anymore. We are what stands between us and the future they have planned for us.

I would like the Democratic Party to band together and empty their campaign coffers on a media blitz of misinformation and bots to socials, leak actual backroom conversations and run ads in gop districts plainly explaining what goes away with this tax plan.
