Three Canadiar CL-227 Sentinel UAV prototypes.

One of the more unique Canadian VTOL drone / UAV designs is the Canadair CL-227 Sentinel, nick-named the "Flying Peanut." It was a short-range reconnaissance or artillery-spotting UAV that could stay aloft for up to 2 hours with various onboard sensors and datalinks tested.

It was great to see an RCAF CP-140M Aurora up close on a stopover at CWHM in Hamilton, Canada, last weekend.
The most visible feature of the aircraft's recent upgrades is the topside fairing, which covers the new sat-comm systems.

The RCAF CC-295 Kingfisher cabin interior has the roll-up door cabinet for the pyrotechnics, including smoke markers, flares, etc., open aft of the observers' seats.

The training base is 19 Wing CFB Comox, so they haven't been very visible to the rest of the country.
The working area for the SAR Techs is significantly smaller than the C-130H they are replacing.
The tech onboard will be useful for searches once they are finally in service.

The all-too-brief RAF Red Arrows visit to CWHM during their 2024 Maple Hawk tour was a fun opportunity to see them up close. They departed with a rare flypast of all 12 Hawk T1A jets.
The Red Arrows were visiting Canada to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the RCAF.

That's a great memory, I'll share it with the couple of GDAK crew members that still come to the museum.

They were a great group to meet when they passed through Hamilton on the way back to BC.

Thanks for sharing, I was crew on C-GDAK a couple decades later and saw that view as we flew to events at the the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.

The iconic C-47 Dakota. This one, FZ692, dropped paratroops in support of the D-Day landings in 1944 and is part of the ride program at CWHM in Hamilton, Canada. It's painted in RCAF 427 Sqn markings that it flew with during WW2.
