I never had an M17, but when I had an M9 on my last Iraq tour, shoulder holster was the way. Especially for navigating the port-a-johns without having to take a leg or hip holster off.

Mostly just random, but on occasion have been known to wax poetic/get super nerdy about: CBRN/CWMD, nuclear weapons, deterrence, etc.

17.02.2026 16:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have at least tried to make things dual-use whenever possible - black water resistant shoes that are business casual enough and meet close toe safety requirements for part of my trip. Black scarf thing that doubles as a light blanket for my flight. Insulated tights for wear under skirts or pants.
17.02.2026 16:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, the shoes alone bust the carry on, given I also have to carry a laptop and other bulky stuff. I'm not acclimated to the cold anymore, ya girl needs snivel gear.

From 2010 to 2014 I was the Cultural Advisor to the Commandant & Professor of National Security & Strategy at US Army War College & the Deputy to the Director of the US Army Culture & Foreign Language Directorate. I'll explain what that meant at the end. 1/
16.02.2026 20:52 β π 167 π 63 π¬ 5 π 12People who can do an entire week of work travel (and not be in the same uniform every day), how tf do you manage it with just a carry on?
Rhetorical question because I could never.
Honestly every time I plan a work trip to DC, there is seldom enough time to meet up with everyone I want to see or go to all the places to which I want to go.
Also, rude that I have to pack an extra bag because where I live is Not Cold and DC right now is Cold.
Counselor: These feelings of "everything sucks," how long have you had them? Butt-head: Uhh, since everything started to suck, I guess.
Here it is, your moment of zen.

This post is β¦ not sarcasm. Itβs an accurate summary of the whole thing. It sadly is.
This paragraph here? Itβs not actually a paragraph. If you read it aloud, each phrase more cursed than the one before it, youβll summon a Great Old One.
And the paragraphs that follow are, somehow, crazier still.
Honey potting is such a wild concept to me, a nationβs only hope for a better future out the window just cause some dude was down bad
16.02.2026 16:44 β π 303 π 21 π¬ 18 π 5A text string that reads: Person 1: "But yesterday managed to burn the fuck out of my hand - reflexively tried to catch a hot sheet pan that I dropped as I was pulling it out of the oven with the hand that I didn't have tbe glove on π€¦π½ββοΈ doing better now, several hours and a lot of aloe gel later, but it's still a bit tender" Person 2: "Thinking of that scene from Mr./Mrs. Smith where Brad Pitt casually drips a wine bottle and Angelina's hand darts out to catch it. You can't help your own hired assassin training." Person 1: "I'm gonna go with that story from now on π€£"
That said, I'm changing my tune from "I'm clumsy af" to "I can't help my own hired assassin training."

had a spidey sense an account was inauthentic a few days ago but couldnβt find any metadata tells right away, but someone just DMβd me to tell me they were on X spouting DEEPLY disturbing stuff
So I just wanted to remind everyone one of the principles of malignant accounts: the 60-40 rule

16.02.2026 15:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0it's funny in a way, but the rubio speech is an AI-quality imitation of an Obama speech, but with ethnonationalism replacing pluralism.
