What links Jeffrey Epstein and Keir Starmer’s government? A thick seam of contempt | Nesrine Malik We’re often told the PM is a β€˜decent’ man. But in appointing Peter Mandelson he chose political convenience over doing right by trafficked women and girls, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

To paraphrase Forrest Gump, decent is as decent does. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Musk and Thiel are the loud ideologues, but Bezos and Zuckerberg are the indispensable enablers.

They are the infrastructure of the new fascism.

Whether through cowardice or greed, they have done almost as much to dismantle democracy.

Stop giving them a pass

How many people does it take to "do" Trump's hair in the morning?
Three.
One to find it, one to tease it and one to threaten it with deportation if it doesn't lie still

Labour's policies on immigration look like a chimpanzee holding a loaded revolver by the barrel and pounding on coconuts.
They might make a crack in the shell, but more likely is a crack from the pistol and an unfortunate chimp laying there

Private companies provide services to make profits for their owners and shareholders.
Nationalised service providers exist to provide a service to the people they serve.
Why does anyone think the former is likely to be better for rail, the NHS, utilities or water supply?

Great video. The homes are thoughtful, attractive and well designed. Khan is eloquent and considerate. Much more like this please.

"What you did was racist."

"Well ... you're fat."

Kind of proves the level of people we're dealing with.

What the fuck is The Times thinking here? They had days to ditch this and find copy to replace this frankly skin-crawling puff piece. If you want a metaphor for media failure this is it

Treat those you despise with compassion, especially if the reason you despise them is their lack of it.
Therefore I am not attaching a picture of Elon Musk

The nearest cinema to me showing "Melania" is 50 miles away. For the only Saturday performance, not a single ticket has been sold.

I remember as a kid going to the "pictures" with a date because it was the only way we could canoodle without our parents' around.
"Melania" has been produced so the kids of today can enjoy that experience.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Wes Streeting as leader would kill the Labour Party as completely as possible.

He is liked only by billionaires and their puppets in Westminster.
