After 50 years, itβs time we called it a coup
Fifty years ago today, an elected government was ousted by a representative of a hereditary monarchy. Broadly, Australian society has still not grappled with these events.

Copy of a tweet from Eddy Jokovich showing a screenshot from the Guardian with a side photo of NSW Premier Chris Minns. Headline reads: State politics Minns says his office possibly not notified of neo-Nazi rally because it was held on the weekend.
Eddie Jokovich's tweet reads: How much bullshit does Minns expect us to believe? Pro-Palestine rallies are scrutinised across every inch of their actions. Why did the Nazi rally proceed? #auspol
The original March for Humanity on the harbour bridge in Sydney was planned for Sun Aug 3, 2025
After the Minns govt took the protest orgs to the NSW Supreme Court, it was held on Sun Aug 31, 2025
But please let's hear again about weekend dates not registering as an issue for the Minns govt

Rudd/Gillard actually had same basic philosophy behind their governing & Party they led.
Their differences were not about ideology or Party direction, it was about Rudd's personality/management.
Starmer had a scorched earth attitude to progressive members/ideas on his way up.
